Cinevation AS is a Norwegian company located in the city of Drammen, 40 km south-west of Oslo, Norway. We develop, manufacture and sell ground-breaking products which will boost innovation, efficiency and quality in the motion picture industry. We are in this business to facilitate our customers’ transition from the analogue to the digital world. Our user-friendly products and solutions will enhance the efficiency and quality of digital work processes and equipment in the post-production of films and bridge the gap between analogue and digital film!

Our mission is to be a provider of innovation and efficiency to the motion picture industry.
As implied in our name – Cinevation - we aim to create innovative solutions that improve the experience of watching of a good film. It is our conviction that the cinema is the best place for film viewing, and we will make films for the cinema even better!
Our focus is to help the post-production industry to utilize the opportunities that lie in the digital intermediate and ensure that the quality is not lost from the digital intermediate on its way back to the traditional film reel.

When establishing the development team in Cinevation, we searched globally for state-of-the-art competence and found pre-eminent specialists within our different fields of technology. The team that we have established gives us flexibility and a sustainable competitive edge since we will always possess up-to-date competence in all our fields of technology.
We are convinced that we represent world class competencies and capabilities when it comes to design and development of optics, opto-mechanics, precision-mechanics, electronics and software. In particular, we have a wide and deep understanding of digital image processing and imaging technology.
Through our engineers’ professional skills and their ability to share, communicate and co-create, we have generated technical solutions and products that initially seemed like a “sweet dream”.

Shareholders

The major shareholders in Cinevation are two leading Norwegian venture companies (Ferd Venture and Viking Venture) and Rune Bjerkestrand, Founder and Director of Innovations. Other shareholders are international technology partners, private investors from the Scandinavian film industry and members of the board of directors.
